In 2021, we hit $1.2 million in revenue and achieved multi-million-dollar status. But recently, we hit a wall. What’s happening in our business is likely happening to yours, too, especially regarding marketing and lead generation.
These daily videos and articles are my way to focus on the hyper-growth goal of achieving $1 million in profit per month—while giving you a real-world, relatable playbook of lessons, tactics, and strategies to help you achieve similar results.
Why Social Media Might Not Be Working for You
Maybe you’ve posted on social media—maybe even consistently—but you’re not seeing results. Or maybe you didn’t see results quickly enough to keep you motivated. It feels like one of those marketing activities that everyone says you "should" do, but it just doesn’t seem to work for you.
Here’s the truth: The reason you’re not seeing the results you want is probably because you haven’t learned how to properly work with—or "befriend"—the algorithms on each social platform.
The Problem with Relying on One Platform
At Growbo, we were too reliant on Google search for lead generation. Traffic was great—until it wasn’t. Google has changed its algorithm a lot in the last two years, introducing AI overviews and scraping websites to present answers directly to users. This has resulted in fewer clicks for everyone, even industry leaders like HubSpot, who saw an 80% drop in organic traffic year-over-year.
The chart below shows just how disruptive this shift has been: a predicted 25% decline in traditional search volume and a 50% potential drop in organic traffic. At the same time, 70% of consumers already rely on AI tools for information, and 79% are expected to adopt AI-driven search soon.
This means the behavior of search users is permanently changing—people are bypassing websites altogether in favor of instant AI-generated answers. Marketers are feeling the impact directly, with 56% reporting noticeable declines in organic traffic and 63% shifting toward geo-focused content strategies as they adapt.
The implications are clear: businesses can no longer depend solely on Google as their growth engine, and diversification into other channels is no longer optional but necessary for survival.
If you've seen your traffic drop, you're not alone. This change has affected everyone, and it's a key reason why many businesses—including ours—are shifting fast to focus on social media and other channels.
Why Social Media Is the New Opportunity
For a long time, I underestimated social media, thinking it was just for people scrolling aimlessly. But I was wrong. It’s actually possible to grow faster on social media than was ever possible through old SEO methods—if you know how to work with the algorithms.
The algorithm wants content that keeps users happy and engaged. If you give the algorithm what it wants, it will give you visibility. That’s the trade.
The illustration that follows makes the shift clear: 83% of B2B marketers now rely on social media and social media advertising to reach their audiences, surpassing email and far outpacing SEO. While SEO still plays a role, it ranks behind newer, faster-growth channels.
Social media provides immediate visibility through algorithm-driven reach, whereas SEO demands long-term effort, constant algorithm adaptation, and now delivers diminishing returns due to AI-driven search results. This shows that while SEO once served as the primary engine of growth, social media has become the dominant arena for B2B marketers looking for faster traction and broader audience engagement.
From my research, it seems possible to grow faster on social media than it ever was through old SEO methods. Social media algorithms are your friend—as long as you know how to make friends with them.

Enter the Marketing Flywheel
The marketing flywheel is the best, simplest, and most robust solution to help you grow your business faster through social media.
What is a marketing flywheel? At a high level, it means:
- Making some content
- Publishing that content
- Observing the results
- Extracting lessons and insights
- Repeating the process
Sounds simple, right? But here’s where most businesses fall short:
- They don’t actually make and publish content consistently.
- When they do, it’s often low-quality, generic, or "AI slop." Creativity and effort matter.
- They aren’t consistent for even 30-60 days. The drop-off rate is huge.
Why the Marketing Flywheel Works
The flywheel works because:
- It forces consistency. If it’s hard for you, it’s hard for others—so there’s less competition.
- Each time you turn the flywheel, you get new data and learning opportunities.
- The more often you do it, the faster you learn what works—and what doesn’t.
Every loop of the flywheel (content in, results out) tightens the learning process. You become more efficient, and you start to understand how to "whisper sweet nothings to the social media algorithms" so they reward you with more visibility.
Actionable Steps: How to Build Your Own Marketing Flywheel
Here’s our simple flywheel at Growbo:
- Content Creation: One article per day, one video recorded.
- Editing: Articles and videos are edited for quality and professionalism.
- Repurposing: Splice articles and videos into social posts and reels.
- Publishing: Articles go to WordPress, Medium, LinkedIn (as appropriate). Videos are published to YouTube, and promoted via newsletter. Social content goes to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, etc.
- Observation & Learning: Read the data, look for spikes or outliers, extract lessons, and form new hypotheses for the next cycle.
The diagram below is the marketing flywheel we are currently using:
How Much Should You Post?
Based on research and what top creators like Alex Hormozi and Neil Patel do, here’s a good starting point:
- Instagram: 1-2 posts (image/carousel or reel) per day
- LinkedIn: 1 post per day (don’t overdo it—quality over quantity)
- YouTube: 1 main video + 1-2 shorts per day
- Facebook: 2 posts per day
- TikTok: 3 short-form videos per day
Do as much as you can consistently. The more you post, the faster you’ll learn what the algorithm and your audience respond to.
Tools vs. Manual Posting
Don’t obsess over tools. You can start manually. Sometimes, posting directly gets better results than using a third-party scheduling tool. Focus on getting content out there—that’s what matters.
Learning from the Data
After publishing, read the data. Look for spikes or outliers. Even if you don’t get a "win" right away, you’ll learn what isn’t working. Over time, you’ll spot patterns—what topics, formats, or hooks perform best. Double down on those.
No Silver Bullets—Just Consistency and Focus
There’s no magic trick. The only "silver bullet" is focus, simplicity, and doing the work consistently over time. You don’t have to do this forever, but you do have to do it for long enough to see results.
The following graph, based on millions of posts analyzed by Buffer, shows how consistency directly impacts engagement on social media. Highly consistent accounts—those posting for 20+ weeks—see the highest median engagement per post, far surpassing both "consistent" and "inconsistent" posting habits.
The implication is clear: results compound with steady effort. Sporadic posting rarely moves the needle, but showing up regularly signals reliability to both the algorithm and your audience, leading to stronger reach and deeper engagement.
You don't have to produce at the same volume as us. Just do as much as you possibly can and max out your flywheel weekly.
If you want to grow your business, you have to adapt. The old ways of relying on Google or a single channel are over. The marketing flywheel is your path to:
- Faster learning about what works for your market
- Greater visibility with your target audience
- Compounding growth over time
- Relevance—not just views, but the right views from the right people
Tips for Getting Started
- Commit to a consistent schedule—even if it’s just one post per day
- Focus on quality and relevance for your target audience
- Don’t be afraid to experiment with different formats and topics
- Document your lessons after each cycle and apply them
